Mission and History
The Gallery of Contemporary Art is a non-profit, non-collecting visual art center and educational institution within the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Its mission is to provide significant contemporary visual art exhibitions with an emphasis on emerging and mid-career artists while offering related programming to the University, the community and the Pikes Peak region. The Gallery of Contemporary Art, UCCS has been in operation since January 1981 when it was established as the only venue dedicated to contemporary art in the region.
The Gallery displays at least five exhibitions annually containing works by artists of significant national and international reputation, as well as works by outstanding regional, faculty and student artists. Educational programming for children and adults is provided.
Artist Submissions
Gallery of Contemporary Art exhibitions are curated and planned at least a year in advance. Therefore we are generally unable to consider work for immediate exhibition. We are always interested in looking at new work in a contemporary vein. You may send a CD-ROM of images of your work or a link to your website, along with a CV, to:
