Bad Art Night: Shadowing Kara Walker

Saturday, October 20, 2007, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
October 20, 2007
5:00 pmto7:00 pm

This Bad Art Night introduces you to the work of Kara Walker. Walker is a contemporary artist whose subjects are primarily nightmarish Victorian style silhouettes depicting African slaves being violently subdued by their masters, lynchings, and fantastically racist scenes reminiscent of Gone with the Wind type romance novels. Of course, at Bad Art Night, we keep things a little more light-hearted. Join us as we make goof-ball black silhouettes on the theme of your choice. Remember, the only rule at Bad Art Night is that no good art is allowed. You have to make crap.
