Why Give?
The Medici family was comprised of wealthy Florentine bankers and statesmen who were known for their patronage of the arts. Such noted artists as Donatello, Botticelli, Raphael, Michelangelo, and da Vinci created works under the Medici’s philanthropic umbrella. However, the Medici’s are dead. Support of the arts is now in the hands of the people — you!
You may not be able to donate millions of dollars to the arts (and if you can, we’ll give you our direct line), but you can be a mini-Medici. For roughly the cost of a monthly trip to the multiplex, you can become a Supporting Patron at the Gallery and champion the arts in Colorado Springs. You can single-handedly sponsor a film screening, help pay for a lecturer, or cover the shipping for an artwork. At higher levels of support, you can make an even greater impact on the arts in the community.
As an added bonus for the 2007-2008 season, the Bee Vradenburg Foundation will kindly match each donation to the Gallery with a dollar-for-dollar matching grant up to $10,000. So, if you become a Principal Patron at $100, the Bee Vradenburg Foundation will pitch in $100.

Giving via the CU Foundation
Currently, the only way the Gallery of Contemporary Art can accept online donations is through the CU Foundation. The CU Foundation requires that 100% of the donation goes directly to the Gallery rather than peripheral benefits. As a result, if you prefer to give online, you will waive certain benefits but you may sleep well at night knowing that 100% of your donation has gone to Gallery operations rather than t-shirts, mugs, or other perks. The following are the benefits associated with online giving:
- Guilt free admission to the GoCA
- The assurance that your donation may be 100% tax deductible
- Invitations to members-only events, previews, and openings
- Reduced admission to lectures and programs
- Reduced cost for publications

Volunteer
The Gallery of Contemporary Art can always use willing and able volunteers to help with Gallery functions, exhibition installation, and tours. We are particularly interested in people who have special skills to share - DJs, designers, sound techs, etc. If you are interested in donating your time and abilities to the Gallery, please email us at
We wouldn’t be able to thank you enough.
